For the past eighteen months Rapid Creek Landcare Group has added fortnightly weeding bees at their Alawa Oval regeneration site to its schedule. This 2026 wet season has resulted in extreme weed growth that is becoming unmanageable for our volunteer weeders. On Friday 13th Glen, Peter and Lon dodged between rain showers to brush-cut access paths through the site. They also took time to tag emerging native seedlings. They commented on how resilient this site seems to be following coffee bush removal and cyclone damage that knocked over some 20 native trees.
